Product & engineering studio

We build things worth owning.

A senior product and engineering studio building custom software, AI and hardware for founders and ambitious teams.

Bring us a product or a difficult technical problem. We work out what actually needs to be built, scope it properly, and execute it.

We keep the studio deliberately small and only take on a few projects at a time.

01 What we work on

Not packages. Problems.

  1. 01

    Product development

End-to-end products, from the first sketch of an idea through to something running in production with real users on it.

  2. 02

    Existing products

Major features, rebuilds, integrations, and the technically difficult work a product hits once it has outgrown the team that started it.

  3. 03

    AI & frontier technology

Local inference, agents, computer vision, automation, and interfaces that don't have an obvious precedent yet.

  4. 04

    Hardware + software

Products where a physical device and its software have to behave as one thing — motion, sensors, edge compute, and the app around them.

  5. 05

    China

WeChat mini-programs, local payments, hosting, infrastructure and product adaptation for when something has to genuinely work inside China.

02 Track record

Six, in detail.

fan dance — verified 1-on-1 video call with ID and QR fan dance — numbered collectible cards dropping

01 / 06

fan dance

A consumer app where fans buy a verified two-minute video call with an artist, and walk away with a numbered collectible card from it.

We built the product end to end: identity-verified calls that stay shareable, a provable numbering system for the cards, and the live-drop mechanics that turn a fanbase into a marketplace.

Zero Food Waste — discovery feed of nearby surprise bags Zero Food Waste — store page with surprise box food gallery

02 / 06

Zero Food Waste 八点以后

A marketplace built as a WeChat mini-program, connecting people with discounted restaurant inventory after 8PM instead of letting it go in the bin.

Built inside the WeChat platform end to end — merchant onboarding, geo-based discovery, WeChat Pay, and infrastructure sized for a Chinese consumer launch.

Ragondin Code — kanban board with cards moving from Created through Analyzing, Review, In Progress and Code Review to Done Ragondin Code — a card drawer showing the answered blocking question, the five-phase plan, and two code review findings

03 / 06

Ragondin Code

Our own product: an AI-assisted kanban for people who still write the code. Every card is picked up by an agent that reads the repo, plans the work, and reviews the branch when you're done.

The interesting part is where the agent runs. The harness is a local daemon on your own machine with your own keys, so source never leaves your hardware — and code review doesn't just read the diff, it drives the running app in a browser to check the change actually works.

Founders Lair — FLAIR opportunity explore feed Founders Lair — dealflow scouting dashboard

04 / 06

Founders Lair

A cross-border innovation platform where investors, governments and startups run programmes and dealflow against each other.

We built the platform behind it: open calls and applications at volume, scouting and dealflow dashboards, and the multi-sided permissions model that keeps three very different kinds of user in the same system.

Educational Robot — 教育机器人 · Teach. Inspire. Build Tomorrow.

05 / 06

Educational Robot

A companion robot for a creativity school — twelve servos, a face, and a conversation, built to hold the attention of a room full of children.

Hardware and software as one product: servo motion and expression, plus a bilingual AI stack running entirely on the device, so a classroom keeps working with no network and nothing leaving the room.

Heart Homes — Dubai city-wide median price per square foot and sales volume

06 / 06

Heart Homes

Data-driven real estate advisory for Dubai: every registered sale in the city, community by community, with the market pulse in one place.

A data product more than a website — ingesting and normalising the full public transaction record, then turning it into pricing, volume and trend views an advisor can actually put in front of a buyer.

04 How we work

Why this is different from hiring an agency.

  1. 01

    Senior people actually build

You talk to the people designing the architecture and writing the code. There is no account layer, and nothing gets handed down to juniors after you sign.

  2. 02

    Scope before code

The first job is reducing the problem to what genuinely needs to exist. Most briefs get smaller, and the ones that don't get honest about why.

  3. 03

    Small team, high leverage

We build our own engineering systems and AI-assisted workflows — including the ones we ship as products — so a handful of people ship what usually takes a department.

  4. 04

    End-to-end responsibility

Product, engineering, infrastructure and deployment are handled together. Nothing falls into the gap between three different contractors.

  5. 05

Every engagement is scoped on its own

Projects are planned and priced around the actual problem. We don't sell fixed packages, and we'll tell you early if we're the wrong studio for it.

05 Capabilities

The stack we actually ship on.

Breadth matters here for one reason: it means the architecture gets decided by what the product needs, not by the only thing the team knows how to build.

06 Studio

Small on purpose.

Ragondin Dev is a founder-led studio. The person you email is the person who scopes the project, and the people on the project are the ones designing and engineering it.

We run a few engagements at a time, alongside our own products — which is where a lot of the harder engineering comes from, and why we tend to be useful on the problems that don't have a tutorial.

Built fast, built clean, no bullshit.

Have something difficult to build?

Tell us what you're building and where it's stuck. If it's a fit, you'll get a real answer from the people who'd do the work — and if it isn't, we'll say so.
